weekend recap
Friday at Goa was a great night. The manager had a birthday. A bouncer had a birthday. It was bananas. There were a lot of people. Friday is their best night, no question about.
Saturday at Social was also a good night. There were mad chicks and a private party. It was really crowded. I got molested by a drunk girl who I had to ditch. I am really glad she turned her back for a few seconds -- it gave me just enough time to slip away. Gosh she was drunk.
Apparently American Apparel had their second annual flea market. People were camping out since like 4 in the morning. That shit was so crowded it wasn't even worth going.
Stopped by "the stork" saturday night also...

Shwayze - Corona And Lime
for the record, i would like to say that tiesto, in no way, neither produces nor plays techno in any of his sets. He plays and produces trance. Nice one, Shwayze. Other than that, dope song!

i'm so sick it makes me sick
what do i get for going out last night? pink eye...are you kidding me? pink eye? This is ailment #3 now. And on top of that, while at social, my nose starts to barely bleed!? here's how it started...
Thinking that he was going to have the night off, my brother gets a call from a promoter asking him to do this new spot off Orange and Hollywood Blvd. It's called Stork. It's a nice place with some names attached to it. I can see it doing well in the future. But anyway, like any scenester hollywood hot spot, stork is a place to sit down and mingle with people. You don't really go to dance, you just go to be seen. At present, the place is like a lounge, however the rest of the club is opening soon enough. As I already said, "people don't dance no more, they just stand there like this." So, my mates and I decided to head to Social for some good times. We make an IHOP pit stop along the way because I adore pancakes. There was, by the way, the most amazing looking woman there. Soon enough we arrive at Social and walk in. Eddie Boy is tearing it up down stairs playing some house and electro. Upstairs, Kev E Kev is getting jiggy with the usual cuts -- some 80's, Hip-Hop, Top 40, etc.
After a while, all of the sudden, my nose starts to run. I wipe it then look down at my knuckle to find blood. I start walking around kinda snorting and sniffing to keep the blood in my nose and off my white v-neck (I only wear v-necks just so you know). Gee, if you saw some guy snorting and touching his nose at a club, what would you think? YAYO. Now people think I got that snow. I was grabbing my nose right in front of this couple and they wouldn't stop staring. You know they thought I was doing blow.
Luckily my nose stopped bleeding and I went home.
i don't do coke or any other drugs

where the light is
i picked up john mayer's new live album "where the light is." i've always been a john mayer fan. he's really great live. here's one of my favourite songs from the album. he rips it up straight acoustic. the live electric licks on the album are also something to watch out for. i think he's gaining a lot of respect as a guitarist with his new displays of skill.

psycosocial
Since I'm stuck at home sick tonight I figured I'd watch fnMTV. Pete premiered slipknot's video for psycosocial. I never thought I would listen to a couple of dudes in masks, but I can say that over the years my musical taste has matured. they deserve a posting.

let's put a smile on that face
what doesn't kill you, makes you stranger
the dark knight was phenomenal. heath ledger gave a tremendous performance. it was well worth the money, and I rarely go to the cinema to support films, but this title took the cake. heath really stole the screen in his role as the joker. it felt great to see him posthumously in celluloid.

no dipset
i remember that when my brother played at the 40/40 club, he was told to not play any "dipset shit." Really funny that Jay-Z banned dipset.
anytime you go to 40/40, request dipset. If you Dj there, play dipset before you leave/ run out of the club.
For those who don't know, 40/40 refers to an elite group of baseball players who, in the same season, stole 40 bases and hit 40 home runs

catch up
just got a message from my boy Jarred. He thinks I should put up ad sense. maybe i'll do that. money is cool.
so back on wednesday, I met the homie Quinton "rampage" Jackson. Talked to him a bit about his loss to Forrest Griffin on Saturday. I think he won that fight (now that I met him). After he mentioned the knocked downs, i kinda started give him more rounds. Regardless, he'll have that title again soon enough. I took a picture with him. Check it out on my facebook profile.
later on in the night I met one of the bouncers. I got to chatting with him and he told me that he was a brown belt in BJJ. He trains/teaches at the Machado fitness center on La Brea and Wilshire. He said he'd hook it up with some classes. Check them out at machadofitness.com. But, if you do your research, you'll see that Rickson Gracie's academy is also off of Wilshire. That man is a living legend.
Friday night, my brother played at coco de ville. I chose not to go because, honestly, I didn't feel like dealing with a bouncer on an ego trip. They are door nazis (thanks stone even though I don't know you), especially at a place with a 150 capacity. Kim Kardashian showed up. Brother did work as usual.
That same night, my brother's agent went to an event he put together with Shifty from Crazy Town. He got me a cool hat. Word up.
And finally, Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein was in town last night djing at Hyde. You said you'd bring the headphones, son! where they at!???

ufc 86
i just realized that i only post when a UFC event happens.
well 86 just finished up. Forrest in the new champ. Juanito Ibarra, aren't you supposed to retire now? Rampage just didn't look like the rampage we all know. We were all pulling for Forrest, but Rampage was really supposed to dominate. Hats of to Forrest. He executed his strategy well. Good leg kicks and a nice mount. Ya it was close to call. Those judges have a pretty hard job. Really can go either way sometimes...
Just like in the Almeida/Cote fight. Cote came out on top, but it should have been a draw. I think I'm a GJJ whore, so I wanted to submission from Ricardo. I think giving that fight to Cote was the worst decision of the night.
The other fights were a little boring. Don't think the fans got their money's worth this time around. Glad I watched it online =).
Can't wait for the next event. Looking forward to Silva fighting as well as Fedor. And I def can't wait for my man GSP later on.
